SPREADING EQUALITY is a Project managed in Andalusia by the Sierra Mágina Rural Development Association and financed by the Women Institute for Equal Opportunities through the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area based on the Memorandum of Understanding subscribed among the Kingdom of Norway, Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Kingdom of Spain for the period 2009-2014.
ADR Sierra Mágina is supported by two Partner entities for the project development which are: Univerity Jaume I Isonomia Foundation in Castellón (C.Valenciana) and Valle del Ese-Entre Cabos Development Center in Asturias. Both entities have extensive experience, just like ADR Sierra Mágina, in projects development for the promotion of equal opportunities between men and women.
SPREADING EQUAQLITY pursues as main objective to encourage labour incorporation of rural women in the male-dominated agricultural sector. In order to achieve this purpose, women around three rural areas (Sierra Mágina region – Jaén; Valle del Ese-Entre Cabos – Asturias - and the regions located in Castellón) will be trained in various agrarian activities: apiculture, ecological agriculture and ranching and a complete knowledge of agricultural activities. These training processes will be complemented with enough preparation for women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship. At the end of this project, the representative Entity will organize an Inter-territorial Conference to present and publish the results and carry out an exchange of experiences between the beneficiaries, technical staff and the staff which represents each previously mentioned area. The project has a Dissemination and Publicity Plan which can be consulted in the document attached.
